Tiger Struggles Again In Rain Hit WGC-Cadillac Championship

Tiger Woods’ hope of trying to find some form before the first major of the year were dashed last night as he found himself at two over par when play was suspended due to bad light after a lengthy rain delay in the afternoon.

He’s main struggle was with the putter, he didn’t hole a single putt outside three feet and missed a couple inside too, and as he left the course he looked a pretty lonely figure to say the least.

To get back into contention he will have to have a very good day today, he will playing 26 holes in total which might work in his favour if he does find some decent form early on. Who knows, if he does find form early and has one of those good days, he could find himself close to the top of the leaderboard come the end of the day.

The bookies haven’t placed much faith in him though, he has now gone out to 33/1 to win the tournament, and the bookies are generally right I hate to say.

A few years back I would have said he was in the tournament still but he doesn’t seem to be having many low rounds recently. If the driver is working then the putter isn’t and vice versa. He’s short game is as good as it’s ever been and he’s iron play is still good, but probably doesn’t hit it as close to the flag as often as he used to, but one thing is for sure, he will never give up trying to improve. I just think he needs to try and enjoy the game a bit more, he seems to be trying too hard and is maybe getting too technical with his golf swing.

Maybe a switch back to Butch is on the cards? Watch this space.
